Commissions F.A.Q.

What do you do?

I specialize in Fantasy/Elven garb for BJDs.

I’ve been doing doll clothes commissions since I started collecting dolls in 2004. I am an amateur seamstress, so while I do my very best to make sure each piece is well made and fitted to the doll you want, I am only human. With so many new dolls out there, please have a look at the molds I have available to me to use as models, and I will use the doll closest in size to your doll as my base for your outfit.

What can you make?

I have a set group of patterns/outfit designs that I work with, which are listed below. I will vary from these patterns slightly, but at this time, I will not be taking on any “new designs” due to the time constraints that are caused by a full time job, and a young child at home. I will take commissions for outfit sets, or single pieces.

What sizes do you sew for?

Please see the “models” page for a list of dolls I have available to me.

Can you sew an outfit I designed?

For my own sanity, and due to time constraints, I will no longer be taking original commissions. i.e. If it's not on my commission thread, or something I've made before, I will not take a commission for it. I do not have time to create new patterns any longer. I will take slight variations on items I've already made, however. I.E. Shorter pants to accommodate hoofed dolls, etc.

When can I commission you?

I will be open commissions on a monthly basis, and will take only as many commissions as I feel I can handle per month. There is no limit on how many outfits you can order per commission slot.

How does the process work?

If you are interested in a commission, please email or PM me with the commission form. You can find it under the “commission form” tab. I will then reply to you to discuss your outfit.
I will require a deposit of 15% of the total cost of the commission prior to my starting the commission. This is to purchase materials needed. Once I have purchased the materials/cut the pattern/etc, this down payment is NON-refundable. That means if you suddenly decide to back out of the commission, you will not get this money back. The only way that this down-payment is refundable is if I need to stop the commission for any reason, or if I have not purchased/cut material yet.

What is your turnaround time?

My usual turnaround time can be from a short as a week or two, to as long as a month or three, depending on my time, complexity of the outfit, how big the commission before yours is, etc. Please understand that my family is the most important thing for me and I have a full time job, and I do commissions only when my son goes to sleep for the evening, so if you want something right away, or you are impatient, I may not be the best seamstress for you. I will give you updates, but I do not take WIP pictures.

Payment

I accept paypal for payment, no fees. I have a great deal of feedback on Den of Angels, and on E-bay under the name Makklyn. I will take international commissions, as well as domestic.

Shipping

I use the US postal service for shipments. Shipping costs are determined by where you live and the shipping method you prefer.

Available methods are:

USPS First Class
USPS Priority Mail
USPS Priority Mail Express (EMS)
